Rust Eco Raid Chart: Raiding Without Explosives
Eco raiding means breaking into a base with melee weapons, fire and cheap tools instead of sulfur. The chart shows, for each structure, which low-cost method works against it.
Eco raids make the most sense early in a wipe, before anyone has sulfur to spare, and against bases still built from wood. Wooden doors and wooden walls are the classic targets; stone and metal structures take far longer without explosives.
Always hit a wall from its soft side where you can, the side with the visible support frame, because it takes much more damage there. Check the chart for the method that suits the tools you are carrying.
The chart groups structures by material. For each one it lists the melee tools, fire sources and cheap weapons that can break it, so you can check at a glance whether the tools in your inventory are enough before you commit.
An eco raid takes minutes rather than seconds, and that time works against you: defenders who are online can respond. Pick a moment when the owners are offline, bring more tools than you think you need, and swap broken tools between doors instead of stopping.
When an eco raid would take too long, switch to the raid calculator to see the cheapest explosive option for the same structure.
Frequently asked questions
What is an eco raid in Rust?
An eco raid is a raid that uses melee weapons, fire or other cheap tools instead of explosives, so it costs little or no sulfur.
Why do players eco raid early in a wipe?
In the first days of a wipe few players have enough sulfur for explosives, while many bases still use wooden doors and walls that tools and fire can break.
Which bases are worth eco raiding?
Bases that still use wooden doors or wooden walls. Stone and metal usually take too long without explosives.
