Fresh Rust Servers by Region
This page groups recently wiped Rust servers by region — EU, US East, US West, Australia, Asia and South America — sorted by wipe age, so you can find a fresh start you can actually play with low ping.
Live data — This answer depends on a current server snapshot.
Region matters more in Rust than players new to the game expect. Rust resolves a lot of its combat client-side, and the difference between 30 ms and 150 ms shows up directly in gunfights: peeking, shotgun trades and close-range AK duels all favour the lower-ping player. A fresh wipe on a server three continents away is not the opportunity it looks like.
Region also determines who you play with. A EU server at 20:00 CET is at peak population; the same server at 06:00 is nearly empty. If you play evenings in your own timezone, a server in your own region gives you a full map of activity. Play on a distant region and your peak hours land on their dead hours — quiet farming, but almost no one to fight and no one to trade with.
The regions worth knowing: EU is the largest Rust population overall and has the widest choice of servers at every rate and group size. US East and US West are split because the continental ping difference is real. Australia and Oceania have a smaller but very consistent community. Asia has grown steadily and now supports dedicated networks. South America is smaller but has region-locked servers that solve the ping problem for Brazilian and Argentine players.
One practical note: some networks label a server by the company's region rather than the machine's location. If ping matters to you, check it in the server browser before committing a wipe to it. The number the game shows you at connect time is the one that counts.
Wipe age is shown next to each entry. Anything under six hours is genuinely fresh. Six to twenty-four hours is still very playable for a small group. Past that, expect established bases and to be starting behind.
